Job description
The Consultant β Valuation role within EYβs Assurance β Audit Support Valuations team focuses on providing high-quality financial reporting valuations and Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) support for audit engagements. The role requires hands-on involvement in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing valuations of intangible and tangible assets, challenging management assumptions, and supporting audit teams with technical judgment aligned to IFRS and ASC standards. Candidates will work on multiple engagements across industries, ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality deliverables while developing expertise in complex valuation methodologies.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Support multiple audit engagements by providing valuation and PPA analysis
- Prepare and review valuation reports, models, and working papers
- Apply various valuation approaches including DCF, MPEEM, Relief-from-Royalty, With-and-Without, and Market methods
- Challenge management and external valuer assumptions, forecasts, discount rates, and methodologies
- Develop and analyze financial and valuation models, including sensitivity and scenario analysis
- Conduct market research, industry benchmarking, and comparable analyses to support valuations
- Collaborate with audit teams to resolve valuation issues impacting audit conclusions
- Ensure high-quality documentation and compliance with audit and reporting standards
- Manage multiple priorities and engagements effectively, delivering work on time
- Review and support work performed by junior team members
Experience & skills
- 1β3 years of experience in financial reporting valuations and PPA
- Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing Purchase Price Allocations
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS 13, IFRS 3, IAS 36, ASC 805, and ASC 350
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation capabilities
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelorβs degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- MBA, CFA, or CA is a plus
- Experience in a leading consulting or professional services firm is preferred
