Job description
The Head of Public Sector Sales – UAE at AWS is responsible for all government, education, health, and non-profit business within the UAE Public Sector. This single-threaded leadership role owns strategy development and execution to build mind share and drive broad adoption of AWS cloud services. The role involves full accountability for business outcomes, leading cross-functional and virtual teams including solution architecture, inside sales, business development, specialized sales, marketing, and professional services. The position requires influencing and negotiating with C-level executives and key stakeholders, shaping holistic customer engagement, driving adoption of new and disruptive technologies, and delivering significant business impact for both customers and AWS.

Key responsibilities
- Lead all UAE Public Sector initiatives, encompassing government, education, health, and non-profit segments, with full accountability for business outcomes
- Develop and execute strategies to increase adoption and mind share of AWS cloud services across the UAE Public Sector
- Manage cross-functional, regional, and virtual teams, including solution architecture, inside sales, business development, marketing, and professional services
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with C-level executives, IT, procurement, finance, legal, and other stakeholders in large-scale enterprise deals
- Drive solutions to complex problems and enable holistic customer engagement across public sector clients
- Oversee talent acquisition, hiring, and development to build high-performing teams across multiple locations and languages
- Ensure successful adoption of new and disruptive technologies in public sector clients
- Proactively manage projects and deadlines, delivering measurable outcomes for both AWS and its customers
- Collaborate across internal stakeholders to align strategy, execution, and customer solutions
- Represent AWS publicly in the UAE Public Sector, shaping thought leadership and industry perception
Experience & skills
- Minimum 15 years of technology and/or sales experience
- Minimum 10+ years of relationship building and influencing at the C-level and ministerial level
- Experience presenting to and negotiating with C-level executives and internal stakeholders
- Experience leading regional, cross-functional, virtual teams including solution architecture, inside sales, business development, specialized sales, marketing, and professional services
- Proactive and independent work style, ability to meet deadlines and deliver on projects
- Proficiency in written and spoken English with strong grammar and concise communication
- Bachelor's degree or MBA in finance, accounting, or related field
- Preferred: 3+ years of procurement experience
- Experience driving adoption of new and disruptive technologies
- Experience managing large teams across multiple locations and languages
- Experience hiring, developing, and building strong teams
- Experience selling nascent products and services and solving difficult customer problems
