Job description
The HR Generalist at IFZA Dubai is responsible for managing a wide range of human resources functions, including government relations, payroll inputs, employee documentation, onboarding, offboarding, compensation and benefits, and HR policy implementation. This role ensures smooth HR operations while maintaining compliance with UAE labour laws and company policies. The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting employee wellbeing by managing medical insurance, attendance, leave administration, and employee relations. The position requires close collaboration with internal teams, government authorities, and external stakeholders to ensure efficient HR processes. The HR Generalist also supports recruitment, manages visa and relocation processes, prepares HR reports, and contributes to policy development. Strong knowledge of UAE labour law, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple HR functions are essential to succeed in this role.

Key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end onboarding processes for new employees including preparing offer letters, employment contracts, and onboarding documentation. The HR Generalist ensures that all documentation is accurate, compliant, and completed within timelines. This responsibility also includes coordinating with IT, Academy, and operations teams for asset allocation, system access, and induction scheduling. Additionally, the HR Generalist ensures that new employees receive a seamless onboarding experience while maintaining proper documentation and compliance with company procedures.
- Handle visa processing, work permits, medical tests, biometrics, and government relations activities in coordination with PRO and government authorities. The HR Generalist ensures that all employees have valid employment documentation and residency permits. This responsibility also includes tracking visa renewals, monitoring expiration dates, and ensuring timely submission of applications to avoid compliance risks.
- Oversee payroll administration including salary inputs, deductions, commissions, bonuses, and payroll reporting. The HR Generalist ensures payroll accuracy and timely submission of payroll data to finance teams. This includes verifying attendance records, calculating overtime, and resolving payroll discrepancies. Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with payroll policies is essential in this responsibility.
- Manage employee benefits including medical insurance, life insurance, and compensation-related matters. The HR Generalist coordinates enrollments, updates, and cancellations while ensuring employees receive appropriate coverage. The role also involves communicating benefits information and resolving employee queries related to compensation and benefits.
- Monitor attendance, leave balances, and absence management using HRIS systems. The HR Generalist ensures compliance with company policies and UAE labour law. This responsibility includes approving leave requests, tracking sick leave, and ensuring accurate documentation for employee attendance and time-off management.
- Support employee relations by handling grievances, investigations, and disciplinary actions. The HR Generalist collaborates with HR leadership to resolve employee issues professionally and confidentially. This responsibility also includes conducting employee engagement activities and supporting a positive workplace culture.
- Develop and update HR policies, procedures, and documentation in line with company objectives and UAE labour regulations. The HR Generalist ensures policies are communicated effectively to employees and implemented consistently across departments.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of HR functions including payroll, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. This educational background supports understanding of HR best practices and organizational requirements.
- Minimum three years of experience as an HR Generalist with hands-on experience managing HR operations. Candidates must demonstrate experience handling multiple HR functions including payroll, employee relations, and recruitment support.
- Mandatory UAE experience with strong knowledge of UAE labour law and government regulations. Candidates must demonstrate understanding of visa processes, employment contracts, and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills in English are required to interact with employees, stakeholders, and government authorities. Arabic language skills are considered an advantage for communication within regional operations.
- Experience using HRIS systems, payroll software, and Microsoft Office tools. Candidates must demonstrate ability to manage HR data, generate reports, and maintain documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Candidates must demonstrate attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
