Job description
The Architect – Retail Design and Architectural Drawings role is responsible for delivering complete architectural design solutions to support the successful completion of projects within defined business requirements and timelines. The position involves end-to-end responsibility for design development, preparation of architectural drawings, and coordination with both internal and external stakeholders. The role requires thorough site analysis to understand and develop area allocations aligned with business requirements and departmental needs. The architect is responsible for conceptual development, including the creation of conceptual 3D models, mock-ups, and visual representations of critical areas and new developments within proposed retail or showroom spaces. All plans must include pictorial representations, sketches, and visual clarity while adhering strictly to defined design standards. The role includes developing comprehensive architectural construction and design documentation for showrooms, covering floor plans, flooring, partitions, ceilings, electrical and lighting layouts, exterior and interior elevations, sections, details, A/C diffuser allocations, lighting coordination, graphic imaging, 3D presentations, material selections, and finishes using CAD-based tools. Cost efficiency, quality, durability, and adherence to timelines are core considerations throughout the design process. The architect coordinates design and execution matters with internal stakeholders such as project managers, quantity surveyors, and site coordinators, as well as external stakeholders including suppliers and consultants. The role also involves preparing reports and flow charts, submitting drawings and documentation to stakeholders and mall management, and ensuring all deliverables meet required deadlines and standards.

Key responsibilities
- Analyze project sites and develop area allocations based on business requirements.
- Understand and address requirements from various internal departments during the design process.
- Develop conceptual 3D models, mock-ups, and visual presentations for critical areas and new retail developments.
- Prepare plans with pictorial representations, sketches, and clear visual communication.
- Ensure all architectural designs comply with required standards.
- Produce clear, concise, and comprehensive architectural drawings.
- Develop complete architectural construction and design documentation including floor plans, flooring, partitions, ceilings, electrical and lighting layouts, exterior elevations, interior elevations, sections, details, A/C diffuser allocation, lighting coordination, 3D presentations, and material and finish selections using CAD tools.
- Ensure strict adherence to design standards, cost considerations, quality benchmarks, durability requirements, and project timelines.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including project managers, quantity surveyors, and site coordinators on all project-related issues.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders such as suppliers and consultants to support project delivery.
- Prepare reports and flow charts in line with project requirements.
- Submit drawings, details, and reports to relevant stakeholders and mall management within specified deadlines.
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.) qualification.
- Possess proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D Max, SketchUp, MS Office, and Photoshop.
- Have 5–7 years of total professional work experience in architectural design.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of experience in retail design for a reputed retail brand or an agency handling retail designs for multiple brands.
