Job description
The Senior Commercial Planner is responsible for leading the hydrocarbon export chain scheduling activities to ensure optimal alignment between LNG production, storage, shipping, and sales operations. The role ensures that export logistics and commercial commitments are executed efficiently while meeting business objectives and contractual obligations. The position requires close coordination with production, marine logistics, commercial, and marketing teams to balance operational constraints with customer requirements. The Senior Commercial Planner plays a critical role in optimizing export value, minimizing disruptions, and ensuring reliable supply through effective planning, modeling, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end scheduling of the hydrocarbon export chain, ensuring alignment between LNG production, storage, shipping, and sales commitments.
- Coordinate with operations, marine logistics, and commercial teams to optimize cargo lifting schedules and vessel utilization.
- Monitor production forecasts, storage capacities, and shipping availability to proactively manage constraints and risks.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, delivery windows, and commercial agreements.
- Perform economic and scenario analyses to support decision-making and optimize export strategies.
- Develop and maintain scheduling models and spreadsheets to improve planning accuracy and operational visibility.
- Identify bottlenecks or logistical risks in the supply chain and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare reports, performance analyses, and presentations for management review.
- Work effectively in a multi-stakeholder, multicultural environment while managing time-sensitive decisions.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 8 years of oil and gas operational or business development experience, including at least 3 years in supply chain or logistics roles.
- Experience in marine transportation logistics of hydrocarbon products, particularly LNG.
- Strong understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of the oil and gas industry.
- Proven analytical capability, including economic evaluation and business modeling.
- Advanced spreadsheet and data modeling skills.
- Ability to operate under time pressure in complex, constraint-driven environments.
- Strong verbal reasoning, communication, and presentation skills in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Economics.
