Leads the technical management of the availability, security, performance, and integrity of enterprise database environments supporting clinical systems, ERP platforms, and mission-critical healthcare applications in a hospital IT ecosystem. Provides senior-level database administration across multiple enterprise database platforms including Microsoft SQL Server (2012, 2016, 2019), Oracle (11g, 19c), cloud-based ERP databases, MySQL, and PostgreSQL while delivering backend and integration support for Cerner, Oracle Fusion ERP, MyCare, and other clinical and enterprise applications. Oversees database availability, performance, integrity, and security across production and non-production environments and manages database instances, schemas, objects, roles, and user accounts while implementing database security controls, access management, encryption standards, auditing processes, and compliance measures aligned with organisational, regulatory, and healthcare requirements. Performs advanced database health checks, performance tuning, optimisation, and root-cause analysis while ensuring uninterrupted operations for systems that directly impact patient care and clinical workflows. Designs, configures, administers, and monitors high-availability and replication architectures including Oracle Active Data Guard between production and standby databases while ensuring data synchronisation, integrity, and compliance with defined RPO and RTO targets. Leads disaster recovery architecture design, disaster recovery testing, failover simulations, and business continuity exercises supporting mission-critical healthcare systems. Administers enterprise backup and recovery infrastructure including EMC NetWorker and Data Domain, defines backup policies, retention schedules, and disaster recovery strategies across physical, virtual, and cloud environments, monitors backup operations and capacity utilisation, resolves backup failures, performs restoration testing and recovery drills, and maintains backup infrastructure through patching, firmware upgrades, and security updates while preparing audit evidence, reports, and documentation for internal, external, and regulatory audits. Oversees Cerner Production and Certification domains (PROD and CERT) including installations, maintenance, and coordination with Cerner OMS teams, administers Cerner non-production environments (BUILD and TRAIN) including domain setup, domain copies, maintenance, and package installations, and maintains Cerner backend infrastructure including application nodes, database servers, mid-tier servers, and standalone applications. Configures and supports backend integrations with third-party systems using FSI/OpenView and Open Link servers while supporting CAMM backend systems including file systems, databases, application configurations, and DICOM image viewer troubleshooting. Maintains Cerner 724 downtime infrastructure including ETL processes and data extracts to designated downtime workstations. Designs, builds, configures, and supports healthcare interfaces using HL7 v2.x messaging standards including ORU, ADT, and ORM message types and administers healthcare interface engines including Cerner iBus, CCE/DA, OpenEngine FSI, Rhapsody, and Mirth. Configures and optimises Cerner Medical Device Integration (MDI) and Bedside Medical Device Integration (BMDI) solutions integrating laboratory devices with the Laboratory Information System (LIS) based on lab orders and ensuring accurate result transmission back to the EMR. Integrates bedside medical devices including vital signs monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, anaesthesia machines, fetal monitors, and bridge medical devices while ensuring accurate clinical data capture within PowerChart and clinical documentation systems. Troubleshoots device connectivity, middleware, interface, and data flow issues across clinical systems and collaborates with biomedical engineering teams, clinical stakeholders, and device vendors to ensure seamless EMR integration. Leads database upgrades, patches, enhancements, and version migrations including pre- and post-upgrade validation, manages database and platform migrations with minimal downtime and risk, and monitors database capacity and utilisation trends to provide forward-looking storage and compute forecasts. Contributes to departmental quality improvement initiatives and continuous improvement programs, supports IT Service Management aligned with ITIL practices and ISO 20000 standards, and participates in Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) assessments and regulatory audits. Acts as a senior technical authority and subject matter expert within the IT department, provides mentoring and technical guidance to junior database, integration, and infrastructure staff, supports IT managers and supervisors with technical risk assessments and decision support, and participates in on-call rotations and after-hours support in a 24/7 healthcare environment to maintain operational continuity of patient-critical healthcare systems.

- Provide senior backend administration and operational support for Cerner, Oracle Fusion ERP, MyCare, and clinical systems including Cerner PROD and CERT domains, BUILD and TRAIN domains, backend infrastructure, ETL processes, and downtime environments
- Design, build, configure, and support healthcare integration interfaces using HL7 v2.x standards including ORU, ADT, and ORM messages and administer interface engines such as Cerner iBus, CCE/DA, OpenEngine FSI, Rhapsody, and Mirth for clinical and enterprise integrations
- Configure and optimise Cerner Medical Device Integration (MDI) and Bedside Medical Device Integration (BMDI) solutions integrating laboratory and bedside devices including vital signs monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, anaesthesia machines, and fetal monitors with LIS and EMR systems

Experience & skills
- Obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and hold certification in Database Administration such as Oracle Database or Microsoft SQL Server along with entry-level ITIL certification
- Demonstrate a minimum of eight years of experience in senior database administration within enterprise IT or healthcare environments including hospitals or large-scale healthcare organisations
- Possess knowledge of enterprise database architectures, data models, storage technologies, database security frameworks, access control models, encryption standards, and audit requirements across on-premise and cloud platforms
- Demonstrate expertise in high-availability, replication, and disaster recovery architectures supporting mission-critical healthcare systems and compliance requirements including Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA)
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, cloud ERP databases, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cerner backend administration, HL7 v2.x interface development, MDI/BMDI configuration, middleware troubleshooting, and healthcare device integration
- Demonstrate experience administering enterprise backup and recovery platforms including EMC NetWorker and Data Domain along with Linux and Windows server environments and networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, ports, VLANs, and firewall configurations
