Job description
The Senior Account Manager (BFS) at Cognizant in Riyadh is responsible for managing strategic client relationships and driving growth in the Banking & Financial Services sector. The role requires oversight of multiple client accounts, ensuring delivery of integration, technology, and outsourcing services aligned with Cognizant's standards. The position involves day-to-day engagement with clients and senior management, P&L ownership, and leadership of account activities. The incumbent develops strategic plans, identifies new business opportunities, manages proposals and RFP/RFI processes, ensures client satisfaction, and coordinates multidisciplinary teams for effective solution delivery. This role emphasizes commercial acumen, client-centric strategies, and deep understanding of banking operations, digital transformation initiatives, and IT professional services to achieve revenue and margin targets while maintaining long-term client partnerships.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage strong client relationships in Saudi Arabia, serving as the primary point of contact and business owner for assigned accounts
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and penetrate new accounts to expand Cognizant’s service offerings in banking and financial services
- Lead proposal development processes, ensuring high-quality submissions and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, including managing RFPs and RFIs within international contexts
- Drive the end-to-end opportunity management process, aligning delivery, technical, and pre-sales teams to meet client expectations and optimize account performance
- Develop and implement strategic go-to-market plans for banking and insurance segments, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market opportunities
- Oversee account P&L management, tracking revenue, margins, and reporting metrics to ensure profitability and business growth
- Conduct regular client meetings and engagement sessions to ensure positive client experiences, address challenges, and maintain alignment with client priorities
- Provide leadership and guidance to delivery teams, ensuring quality of service, resource optimization, and alignment with Cognizant’s digital transformation and professional services strategies
Experience & skills
- 10+ years of experience in client-facing roles within IT professional services or offshore outsourcing, with significant exposure to the Banking sector
- Proven experience managing multiple client accounts, including P&L responsibility and reporting on revenue and metrics
- Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including C-Suite executives
- Proactive mindset with the ability to interface at all organizational levels and lead initiatives from the ground up
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Arabic and English, enabling clear client engagement and team coordination
- MS or MBA degree preferred, with demonstrated experience in business development and strategic account management in Saudi Arabia
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in dynamic environments, apply problem-solving skills to enterprise-wide challenges, and identify strategic solutions
- Experience developing go-to-market strategies, managing cross-functional teams, and aligning digital and consulting solutions with client business objectives
