Job description

Every purchase at Kirby, part of Alghanim Industries in Kuwait, starts with a technical requirement from Engineering or Operations, and this engineer turns those requirements into sound supply decisions. Technical review comes first, followed by RFQ documents sent out to suppliers and vendors. Quotations are then evaluated on price, delivery and quality to find the best fit. Negotiation with suppliers for assigned products and services is a regular part of the job, as is executing supply contracts. Once a PO is complete, each supplier gets a performance evaluation. New local and international sources need developing as the business changes. All of this follows established company procedures, with reports prepared for management when required. A Bachelor's in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is essential, and while 2 years in purchasing is preferred, strong fresh graduates will be considered.
