Job description
YouTube is seeking a Strategic Partnerships Development Manager for YouTube Shopping in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with fluency in English and Arabic. This role is focused on building an affiliate program to enable creators to earn commissions from merchants, recruit merchants to the program, and drive their engagement. The manager will define partnership strategy to achieve YouTube Shopping goals, particularly in creator business generation, and work closely with Product, Engineering, Legal, Content Partnerships, Strategy, and Google Shopping teams. The role requires negotiation of agreements, incubation of first-of-a-kind partnership programs, management of complex partnerships, and representation of the market to influence product roadmaps. The position emphasizes strategic thinking, understanding market dynamics, partner engagement, and global perspective, while contributing to YouTube’s broader vision of shoptainment and commerce-enabled content discovery.

Key responsibilities
- Define and execute the partnership strategy to help achieve YouTube Shopping goals, with a focus on creator business generation and affiliate program development.
- Recruit and onboard merchants to the YouTube Shopping affiliate program, ensuring active participation and engagement with creators and platform features.
- Partner with brands, retailers, and affiliate networks to close agreements, drive adoption of new product features, and coordinate marketing activations to enhance program impact.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with external partners, negotiating agreements, managing ongoing relationships, and ensuring alignment with YouTube Shopping objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to identify partnership opportunities that advance YouTube Shopping goals and optimize product development based on partner feedback.
- Incubate new products and formats for YouTube Shopping, capturing critical partner insights to inform cross-functional teams and improve platform offerings.
- Serve as a domain expert and thought leader in YouTube Shopping, understanding market dynamics, trends, and engagement landscapes to inform strategy and decision-making.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams including Legal, Content Partnerships, Strategy, and Google Shopping to align partnerships with business objectives and compliance requirements.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required, MBA preferred.
- 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, including 5 years in business development, partner management, or agreement structuring and negotiation.
- Experience working with C-level executives and collaborating cross-functionally across all levels of management.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and Arabic, with Turkish language skills preferred to support partner relationship management.
- Experience interpreting legal documents, negotiating agreements, and collaborating with legal teams to draft and execute contracts.
- Familiarity with management consulting and an understanding of YouTube products, brands, retailers, and affiliate networks.
- Proven problem-solving skills with entrepreneurial and creative approaches, attention to detail, collaboration instincts, and ability to convey complex technical, financial, or business information clearly.
- Ability to incubate new programs and products, integrate partner feedback into product development, and influence cross-functional strategy and go-to-market execution.
