Job description
This role is responsible for supporting Oracle ERP systems under the operational support domain at Omantel. The primary focus includes ensuring system stability, conducting system health checks, and supporting users through issue resolution, updates, and documentation. It also encompasses ensuring optimal system performance, handling integrations, implementing updates, managing software licensing, and maintaining high standards of security and compliance in collaboration with infrastructure and network teams.

Key responsibilities
- Implement, test, and deploy changes / updates to Oracle ERP systems.
- Provide technical support for system users and troubleshoot system issues.
- Assist in system health checks, ensuring applications run smoothly and efficiently.
- Install and upgrade new and existing systems.
- Proactively monitor operational systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues and ensure system optimization.
- Coordinate with other departments to support web services and operational applications.
- Assist in incident resolution, ensuring quick closure of support tickets and minimizing downtime.
- Document incidents and resolutions in accordance with IT support processes.
- Ensure systems are up to date with security protocols, patches, and upgrades.
- Identify vulnerabilities and collaborate on enhancing system security.
- Liaise with vendors for troubleshooting, support, and system enhancements.
- Manage software licensing and ensure accurate sizing and renewals.
- Ensure proper backup procedures for critical systems and support data recovery operations.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Oracle ERP system support.
- Advanced expertise in Oracle ERP, Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Apps DBA.
- Comprehensive understanding of Oracle workflows, forms, and databases.
- Proficient in configuring and generating custom reports.
- Experience in API integration with other systems.
- Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Deep understanding of IT standards including ITIL, security, compliance.
- Experience managing support projects and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Well-developed communication skills and experience influencing stakeholders.
