Job description
The Senior Health and Safety Manager at Mace in Riyadh provides visible leadership and direction for health and wellbeing across one of the largest mixed-use development programs in Saudi Arabia, including sports, entertainment, arts, and associated infrastructure. The role involves delivering the business and H&W strategy and objectives through ownership of projects and programs, providing specialist advice and assurance to senior leadership and operational teams. The incumbent implements and shapes H&W standards, delivers group-wide programs on time and within budget, guides operational teams for local delivery, partners with HR and HSW functions globally, stays ahead of wellbeing research and trends, analyses data to drive improvement, manages supplier performance and stakeholder value, and champions continuous improvement and net zero goals. Expertise in building safety legislation, construction contracts, professional appointments, and health and safety legislation is required.

- Shape, implement, and maintain health and wellbeing standards across the organization
- Deliver group-wide health and wellbeing programs on schedule and within budget
- Provide guidance to operational teams to ensure effective local delivery of H&W initiatives
- Collaborate with HR and Health, Safety, and Wellbeing functions globally to align strategies and programs
- Monitor and analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement in health and wellbeing performance
- Manage supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and stakeholder value
- Champion sustainability and net zero carbon initiatives through H&W practices
- Provide specialist subject matter advice, guidance, and assurance to senior leadership and operational teams
- Stay informed of wellbeing research, industry trends, and emerging practices to drive innovative H&W solutions
- Support delivery of strategic objectives through ownership and successful execution of projects and programs within the H&W delivery plan
Experience & skills
- Degree qualification in a relevant subject
- Chartered or professional membership is advantageous
- Membership or demonstrable experience with RIBA, MICE, CIBSE, CIOB, RICS, CIAT, or equivalent professional development
- Strong knowledge of building safety legislation, building standards, and construction contracts
- Experience providing health and safety guidance and assurance to senior leadership and operational teams
- Ability to deliver programs and projects on time and within budget
- Experience managing supplier performance and stakeholder relationships
- Analytical skills for data-driven improvement of H&W initiatives
- Ability to stay informed of trends and research in health, wellbeing, and safety
- Experience championing continuous improvement and sustainability/net zero initiatives
