Job description
The Solutions Engineer for the Middle East at Cloudflare acts as the technical customer advocate within the organization, supporting pre-sales technical activities, solution design, and adoption roadmaps. The role involves working closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions, ensuring maximal business value. The engineer must possess broad knowledge of Internet performance and security technology, TCP & UDP networking, DNS types, firewall roles, TLS/SSL, and HTTP protocols, with the curiosity to maintain and develop new knowledge in a fast-evolving product environment. Responsibilities include understanding customer needs, influencing buying decisions, explaining ROI, understanding the competitive landscape in DDoS, CDN, performance, DNS, developer platforms, and Zero-Trust/SASE services. The role requires managing projects, meeting deadlines, prioritizing competing demands, and occasional travel (10–15 days per quarter). Cloudflare provides all training and resources necessary for the role.

- Support pre-sales technical engagements to ensure solution fit and adoption for customers across the Middle East.
- Act as the technical customer advocate and collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams.
- Design scalable, fit-for-purpose solutions leveraging Cloudflare’s Internet performance and security technology portfolio.
- Explain complex technical concepts to customers in easy-to-understand terms and guide them through solution adoption.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of TCP & UDP networking, authoritative and recursive DNS, firewalls, TLS/SSL, HTTP, and emerging security trends like Zero Trust and SASE.
- Understand customer decision-making processes, demonstrate ROI, and articulate competitive advantages over other providers.
- Manage projects, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and occasionally travel to customer sites, conferences, and events.
