The Data Engineer (Corporate Services – Group Technology & Digital Platforms) role at Al-Futtaim Private Company LLC is responsible for transforming complex data from SAP and non-SAP sources into valuable business insights that support enterprise-wide decision-making. The role involves participating in requirement assessments, implementing high-quality, scalable, and governed data solutions, and supporting diverse business needs across the organization. The Data Engineer collaborates closely with product owners, scrum masters, solution architects, development teams, and internal and external partners to design, develop, test, and deploy analytics and data engineering solutions. The position focuses on implementing robust and reusable data pipelines using the Microsoft Azure toolset and Databricks, ensuring adherence to software development and maintenance standards and best practices. The role includes governing solutions, assessing complex new data sources across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, and ensuring data quality, completeness, and business value. The Data Engineer is accountable for estimating and delivering multiple project assignments and system change requests within agreed timelines and resources, governing the technology implementation of solution designs, and maintaining alignment between data insights solutions and business objectives. The role requires deep expertise in cloud-based analytics solutions, Azure and Databricks platforms, big data and data warehouse architectures, DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code, while supporting scalable enterprise analytics capabilities across Al-Futtaim Group’s diversified business divisions.
