Job description
The Senior Accountant – Group Financial Reporting & Budgeting at Aldar Properties is responsible for executing group-level financial consolidation, reporting, and budgeting activities. The role supports the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and plays a key part in administering the annual group budgeting cycle. The incumbent will collaborate with subsidiaries, departments, and auditors to ensure accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong financial governance across the Group.

Key responsibilities
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and consolidation of group ledgers and accounts.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Reconcile group balance sheet schedules and coordinate with departments and subsidiaries to resolve outstanding issues.
- Manage internal and external group-level reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors, respond to audit queries, and support statutory audit processes.
- Perform financial analysis, cash flow forecasting, and special analytical reviews for departments and subsidiaries.
- Administer the annual group budgeting exercise, ensuring coordination across subsidiaries and departments.
- Monitor and reconcile budgets, conducting detailed variance analysis for income statement and balance sheet line items.
- Provide clear commentary and supporting documentation for budget variances and financial performance trends.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and corporate governance requirements.
Experience & skills
- UAE National (mandatory requirement).
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in financial accounting and management accounting.
- Experience in real estate or related industry preferred.
- Experience in complex group-wide accounting and reporting, ideally within a public company environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and ability to apply international accounting standards.
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CIMA, CA, or ACCA is required.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to adhere strictly to internal control frameworks and governance policies.
- Strong communication and time management skills with the ability to meet reporting deadlines.
