Job description
The Senior Architect (Civil Construction & UAE Authority Compliance) is responsible for leading architectural design, coordination, and execution across civil construction projects in Abu Dhabi and Dubai within the construction and civil engineering industry. The role requires advanced expertise in architectural design development, preparation, review, and approval of architectural drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and construction documentation, ensuring strict compliance with project requirements, UAE authority regulations, and local codes. The position involves managing authority submissions, approvals, permits, and NOCs including DM, DDA, and Trakhees, while coordinating with consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery. The Senior Architect plays a critical role in reviewing RFIs, providing technical clarifications, conducting site inspections, monitoring construction progress, and resolving design-related issues in real time. The role ensures adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements while participating in design meetings, coordination meetings, and client presentations. Additionally, the role oversees architectural deliverables during project close-out, including as-built documentation, and supports execution across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments with strong emphasis on architectural coordination and compliance with UAE construction practices.

Key responsibilities
- Lead architectural design development and ensure compliance with project requirements, UAE authority regulations, and local building codes across all project phases from concept to completion
- Review, prepare, and approve architectural drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and construction documentation while ensuring alignment with project specifications and contractual requirements
- Coordinate with consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure seamless architectural execution across residential, commercial, and mixed-use construction projects
- Manage authority submissions, approvals, permits, and NOCs including DM, DDA, and Trakhees while ensuring full regulatory compliance and timely approvals
- Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress, resolve design-related issues, and provide technical clarifications to project stakeholders
- Review RFIs and deliver accurate and timely responses to contractors and consultants to maintain project timelines and quality standards
- Participate in design meetings, coordination meetings, and client presentations to ensure alignment on architectural vision and execution strategy
- Oversee architectural deliverables during project close-out including preparation and validation of as-built documentation
Experience & skills
- Obtain a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering ensuring strong academic grounding in architectural design, construction methodologies, and technical documentation relevant to civil construction projects
- Demonstrate a minimum of 7–10 years of relevant professional experience within the construction or civil engineering industry, preferably in the UAE, with direct involvement in architectural design, coordination, and execution of projects
- Possess strong expertise in architectural coordination across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, including the ability to manage multidisciplinary stakeholders such as consultants, engineers, and subcontractors
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of UAE authority regulations, submission procedures, and approval processes including DM, DDA, Trakhees, permits, and NOCs, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrate proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and approving architectural drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and as-built documentation in alignment with project specifications and contractual requirements
- Show hands-on experience in conducting site inspections, monitoring construction progress, identifying design-related issues, and providing technical clarifications to ensure quality and timely project execution
- Demonstrate the ability to manage project documentation, authority submissions, and coordination workflows effectively while maintaining compliance with quality standards and construction best practices
- Possess strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and architectural design execution to support end-to-end delivery from concept design through project close-out
