Job description
Large-scale projects lose money quietly when costs drift, and this Section Head position at Hill International exists to keep that from happening in Riyadh. Cost control strategies and procedures are yours to set and put into practice. Project managers and department heads work with you to track project costs, while purchase orders, invoices and expense reports come to you for review and approval. Senior management receives your financial reports, budget forecasts and variance analysis. Claims & Variations study, analysis and evaluation also sit within the section. Regular audits of financial records help catch discrepancies early, and cost reduction initiatives come out of work with cross-functional teams. A team of cost control staff reports into the section, so training and mentoring are ongoing. Expect to need at least 20 years in cost control, including time as a cost manager on large-scale projects, with depth in cost estimating, financial reporting systems and cost analysis. Advanced knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction and startup work processes matters, as does extensive experience producing project cash flow forecasts.
