Job description
Fraud, waste and abuse drain resources from health insurance, and this FWA AI Engineer at Bupa Arabia in Jeddah builds the AI solutions that help detect and investigate it. Approved use cases are assessed for feasibility first, looking at data availability, technical requirements and implementation complexity. Models and analytical logic from the FWA Data Scientist are then turned into scalable, cloud-native solutions on GCP and Vertex AI, covering machine learning, anomaly detection, graph analytics and document intelligence. APIs, scoring services and integration components connect those outputs to investigators' workflows, with Data Engineering and TIDES (IT) supporting production deployment. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, AI or data science and experience delivering AI/ML solutions into production, with GCP, health insurance or FWA analytics experience preferred and SAS knowledge an advantage.

- Assess the technical feasibility of approved FWA use cases
- Evaluate data availability, technical requirements and implementation complexity
- Define solution approaches for AI-driven FWA detection
- Develop technical requirements and implementation plans
- Recommend the most suitable AI techniques and technologies for delivery
- Build and optimise AI solutions that support FWA detection and investigation
- Translate models and analytical logic into scalable cloud-native solutions on GCP
- Implement machine learning, anomaly detection, graph analytics and document intelligence solutions
- Create APIs, scoring services and integration components for operational deployment
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with technical standards
- Collaborate with the FWA Data Scientist to operationalise validated models
- Deploy AI solutions into operational environments
- Integrate AI outputs with internal systems and workflows
- Coordinate with Data Engineering and TIDES (IT) to enable production deployment
- Support release planning and deployment activities
- Move solutions smoothly from development into production
- Conduct technical testing of AI solutions
- Facilitate user acceptance testing with business stakeholders
- Validate output accuracy, reliability and performance
- Resolve implementation issues as they arise
- Enhance deployed FWA AI solutions over time
- Apply model improvements identified by the Data Science team
- Optimise solution performance and address technical issues
- Incorporate new fraud detection capabilities and business requirements
- Maintain technical documentation and solution knowledge assets
Experience & skills
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or Data Science
- Bring experience delivering AI and machine learning solutions into production
- Use Python and SQL proficiently, along with NLP, LLM and OCR techniques
- Have experience with Google Cloud Platform and Vertex AI (preferred)
- Offer experience in health insurance, claims, FWA, risk analytics or financial crime analytics (preferred)
- Understand healthcare claims, provider and pre-authorization processes (advantage)
- Know SAS (advantage)
- Communicate and present technical solutions clearly to stakeholders
- Work effectively across data science, engineering, IT and investigation teams
