Job description
Trades in FX, money markets, rates, derivatives, commodities and capital markets all pass through first-line controls at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), and this AVP runs many of those checks within the Global Markets Middle Office. Working under the VP & Head of GM MO Control & Governance, you carry out daily, periodic and event-driven controls under approved SOPs and evidence standards. Trading permissions, booking templates, internal and Islamic trade bookings, and amendments and cancellations are all checked for breaches and policy deviations. Off-market indicators and counterparty exposure exceptions are monitored and escalated to Product Control, Market Risk, Front Office or Compliance. Reconciliations, failed and alleged trades, settlement fails and aged breaks are tracked, with root-cause analysis on the recurring ones. Lifecycle events such as credit events and corporate actions also come under your watch. KPI/KRI inputs, control packs and regulatory reporting break tracking feed governance forums, and audit and RCSA evidence stays complete. Trade execution sits with GM MO Trade Support, so clear hand-offs and independent challenge define your side of the boundary. Process simplification, UAT and automation projects draw on your input, and Specialists receive coaching where assigned. Seven or more years in Global Markets operations, middle office, control or related functions is required, along with a relevant Bachelor's and practical knowledge of Murex, MarkitWire and Bloomberg.
