Job description
The Senior Manager in the Department of Professional Practice provides oversight and guidance on technical accounting and auditing matters across the firm’s UAE operations. The role ensures compliance with professional standards, enhances the quality of audits, and supports the development and mentoring of technical teams.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee professional practice matters including technical accounting, auditing, and regulatory guidance
- Provide advisory support to audit and assurance teams on complex client engagements
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and local accounting standards
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for audit quality and risk management
- Review engagement outputs to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to standards
- Lead technical training programs and mentoring for junior and mid-level staff
- Collaborate with leadership to identify improvements in processes, methodologies, and professional practices
- Monitor emerging accounting and auditing standards and guide teams on implementation
- Support internal and external regulatory inspections and audits
- Prepare reports and briefings for senior leadership and relevant professional bodies
Experience & skills
- Extensive experience in audit and assurance, preferably in a Big 4 or top-tier professional services firm
- Proven technical expertise in accounting and auditing standards
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex engagements simultaneously
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, CFA) highly desirable
