Linux DevOps role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, requiring strong knowledge of Linux internals (preferable RHEL / Ubuntu) and essential knowledge of Windows internals, with comprehensive understanding of DevOps / SRE, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and 12 Factor Principles. The role requires excellent hands-on experience in configuration management, orchestration and IaC tools including Ansible, Jenkins, and Terraform; strong understanding of virtualization technologies including KVM, Libvirt, oVirt, KubeVirt, OVM, and OpenStack; software defined storage technologies including CEPH and GlusterFS; repository and artifact management tools including Red Hat Satellite, Spacewalk, and Nexus; container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and Openshift; ELK and its beats including Auditbeat and FileBeat; and OS compliance policies such as CIS Benchmark. Responsibilities include architecting, writing and implementing software to improve stability, scalability, and availability of products; owning multiple services; solving recurring problems through automation and reliability planning across multi datacenter/environment and outages; DNS capabilities including Authoritive and Non-Authoritive DNS, Dynamic and bind DNS, and Forwarder; SSL communication concepts including SSL handshake, cipher suites, and encryption algorithms; Active Directory including Security OUs and policies; certificates including SAN, client-authentication, keystores, and mutual ssl; load balancers, site selectors, and firewall; vault tools including Cyberark and Hashicorp; high availability; API communications including Rest/Soap and developing consumer/publisher for any API; scripting including Groovy (writing Jenkins Files), Bash, Powershell, and Python; GITOPS driven configuration management and deployment; and troubleshooting through log analysis and deep dives into issues.

- Solve occurring problems by creating solutions and automation to prevent recurrence
- Plan for reliability across multi datacenter/environment deployments and handle outages
- Use configuration management, orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and Terraform to manage and deploy systems
- Manage and operate virtualization technologies including KVM, Libvirt, oVirt, KubeVirt, OVM, and OpenStack
- Implement and operate container platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, and Openshift
- Manage software defined storage technologies including CEPH and GlusterFS
- Administer repository and artifact management tools including Red Hat Satellite, Spacewalk, and Nexus
- Implement logging and monitoring using ELK and beats such as Auditbeat and FileBeat
- Apply OS compliance policies and hardening requirements aligned to CIS Benchmark
- Configure and troubleshoot DNS including Authoritive/Non-Authoritive DNS, Dynamic and bind DNS, forwarders, and related services
- Implement and troubleshoot SSL communication including handshake flows, cipher suites, and encryption algorithms
- Configure and support Active Directory structures including Security OUs and policies
- Manage certificates including SAN, client-authentication, keystores, and mutual SSL
- Operate and integrate load balancers, site selectors, and firewall components
- Use vault tools such as Cyberark and Hashicorp for secrets management
- Develop and integrate API communications using Rest/Soap and create API consumers/publishers
- Write and maintain automation and deployment scripts using Groovy, Bash, Powershell, and Python
- Drive GitOps-based configuration management and deployment workflows
- Troubleshoot complex issues through log reading, investigation, and root cause identification
Experience & skills
- Strong knowledge of Linux internals with preference for RHEL and Ubuntu
