Job description
Masdarās Chief Investment Office, Strategic & Special Projects division seeks a Project Manager, Projects in Abu Dhabi to contribute to and ensure successful project development as per approved budget; prepare and submit project cost estimates and appraisal reports; scope and appraise projects factoring in technology innovation; ensure preparation of project execution plans and RP& EPC contracts; manage assigned projects so results are delivered within time, budget, and required standards; coordinate activities to ensure timely and accurate execution; monitor and control project expenditures within approved budgetary limits; monitor and control project progress, escalating issues and taking corrective actions; assign project resources as needed to ensure timely and adequate delivery; represent the client for assigned projects in front of external end-user government representatives such as Ministers and Prime Ministers; inform the executive team and stakeholders of delays and identify critical issues to keep completion on track; prepare informative weekly and monthly project progress reports; prepare for project steering committee reviews; prepare project performance status, cost control, staffing, and programme reports; attend high-level meetings with project stakeholders; contribute to developing and implementing work plans to meet dynamic needs and programme reports; participate in and develop project lessons learned to support risk management and mitigation; seek knowledge and new systems that aid successful development and delivery; ensure relationships with service level providers are managed to guarantee quality and timely services per service level agreements; and, when required, personally manage key relationships/negotiations with internal and external stakeholders to secure favourable deals while safeguarding Masdarās interests. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelorās degree in electrical and/or economics, science, engineering or equivalent (Masterās an asset) and PMI/PMP desirable; preferred experience includes 6ā8 years of project management with exposure to global scale and complex energy, technology and utility projects in large multi-national companies, and good knowledge of the UAE utility and international energy sector. Job-specific skills include exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in a corporate/multifunctional environment, ability to manage cross-functional teams, knowledge of the traditional energy industry, project administration and legal knowledge, planning and organising, attention to detail, and proven ability to manage and prioritise multiple ongoing projects.

- Capture and contribute lessons learned to enhance risk management and mitigation
- Identify and adopt new systems and methods that improve project development and delivery
- Manage relationships with service level providers to ensure quality, timely services per SLAs
- Lead key stakeholder relationships/negotiations when required to secure favourable agreements for Masdar
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorās degree in electrical and/or economics, science, engineering or equivalent (Masterās degree is an asset)
- Possess 6ā8 years of project management experience with exposure to global-scale, complex energy, technology, and utility projects
- Demonstrate good knowledge of the UAE utility landscape and the international energy sector
- Show ability to manage cross-functional teams within a corporate/multifunctional environment
- Exhibit knowledge of the traditional energy industry alongside renewables context
- Bring project administration and legal knowledge applicable to contracts and execution
- Demonstrate strong project management, planning, and organising capabilities with attention to detail
- Prove ability to manage and prioritise multiple ongoing projects effectively
- PMI/PMP certification desirable
