Job description
The Senior Accountant in the Controllership function at Tabby will lead day-to-day financial activities, ensure accuracy in financial reporting, and support finance leadership in maintaining compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations within a high-growth FinTech environment. Core scope includes preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries for month-end and year-end closing; maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate, timely recording of all transactions; preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS; and assisting with consolidation of accounts across multiple entities. The role oversees accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor payments, reconciliations, and aging reports; manages AR reconciliations and follow-ups; and ensures all invoices, receipts, and supporting documents are maintained and compliant. Compliance responsibilities include ensuring adherence to UAE VAT regulations, including VAT filing and reconciliation; supporting external and internal audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries; and ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and relevant UAE regulations. The Senior Accountant will implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets, support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy, liaise cross-functionally with operations, product, and legal to ensure financial alignment, and support the finance manager in strategic initiatives and special projects. Tooling and standards explicitly include IFRS, UAE VAT regulations, Advanced Excel, and ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.

Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Professional certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) highly desirable
- 4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in fintech, e-commerce, or fast-paced industries
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar
- Proven ability to implement and monitor internal controls and support audits
