Job description
GEMS Metropole School is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Manager to join our Plus Schools cluster. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving student success through the effective use of data across schools. The Data Manager will support decision-making and improve student performance by producing data, reports, and analysis across various academic and operational areas. The role requires liaising with academic teams, school leaders, assessment leads, and IT to ensure data is effectively used, secure, and aligned with school improvement and inspection requirements.

Key responsibilities
- Develop the effective use of data across schools in the cluster to ensure data is being used effectively to improve student outcomes
- Make recommendations to inform decision-making and improve student performance focusing on attainment, progress, behaviour, attendance, self-evaluation, and staff performance management
- Produce reports for academic teams at plus brand schools to facilitate full analysis of attainment and progress including report grades and public examination results
- Use reports to spot trends in school data across the cluster and conduct comparative analyses between schools to support school development leaders
- Support and develop leaders across the plus brand to effectively analyse and triangulate data to improve student outcomes
- Support schools in analysing and preparing data for school inspection purposes, school evaluation, and the school improvement plan
- Liaise with assessment leads in the cluster schools to analyse data using Microsoft Power BI, SIMS, Pulse, and Phoenix
- Liaise with IT Department regarding implementation of new assessment systems to effectively support implementation across schools
- Respond to educational developments with implications on data management including data security and integrity
- Attend relevant professional development courses to update knowledge and skills
- Keep abreast of new technologies and research through contacts with technology companies, professional organisations, publications, and conferences
Experience & skills
- A minimum two years’ experience in a data manager role
- Experience working with educational data including pastoral and academic data
- Experience working with Go4Schools and FFT Aspire (desirable)
- Experience working with Nova-T6 (desirable)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Logical and analytical thinking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Competency in building Power BI dashboards
- High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to organise and prioritise assessment data processing in line with school calendar
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and school personnel
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly
