Job description
Leads all HSE matters for the department, ensuring compliance with QatarEnergy, international standards, and regulatory requirements for major offshore oil & gas projects. Oversees HSE risk management, environmental assessments, safety plans, audits, and incident investigations. Provides leadership to both in-house and contractor HSE teams to maintain a high-performance safety culture.

Key responsibilities
- Lead provision of expertise on HSE matters across the department.
- Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy standards, international codes, and project requirements.
- Develop project HSE plans, philosophies, specifications, and risk registers.
- Oversee environmental assessments and ensure regulatory alignment.
- Investigate incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and track lessons learned.
- Lead key HSE audits and reviews; maintain consolidated audit records.
- Motivate and organize HSE and contractor teams for optimal performance.
- Manage large contractor HSE teams within offshore project environments.
- Collaborate with project management to integrate safety into all phases.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in HSE performance.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 15 years’ HSE experience in major oil & gas EPC projects.
- At least 5 years in a senior HSE position for offshore projects with reputable operators.
- Familiarity with offshore safety regulations, codes, and environmental regimes.
- Experience leading HSE risk assessments and developing safety documentation.
- Proven track record in accident investigation and incident learning.
- Lead auditor experience in critical HSE reviews.
- Strong leadership skills to guide multidisciplinary HSE teams.
- Proficiency in English (written & spoken).
- Experience in the Arabian Gulf preferred.
