Job description
Teaching Business and Economics up to KS5 is only half of this position at The English College Dubai, since every teacher also looks after a tutor group. In the classroom, deep subject knowledge and a clear grasp of examination specifications let you stretch the most able learners while supporting students with additional learning needs and English Language Learners. Contextual data guides planning, and lessons adapt so every student keeps progressing. Formative and summative assessment, marking to school policy and tracking of attainment run alongside reports and parents' evenings. Tutor time includes PERMA lessons grounded in Positive Psychology and Moral, Social and Cultural lessons in line with the MOE curriculum. Attendance, punctuality and behaviour within the tutor group are monitored, with students referred to the Head of Year when they need more support. An extracurricular club for at least two terms, break and lunch duties and cover for absent colleagues are all expected. Faculty resources benefit from your contributions, as does the wider school improvement plan. Candidates need a good honours degree, QTS or PGCE (ideally from the UK), at least two years' teaching experience with UK curricula, and an ICPC and UK Enhanced DBS or equivalent check.
