Job description
Dubai Islamic Bank is seeking an AVP – Servicing & Disbursements to oversee the daily operations of the Servicing unit, covering life Takaful, after-sales services, EMI and PDC management, cheque/SIO clearing, and GL reconciliations. The role requires ensuring timely execution of all customer servicing requests, compliance with Takaful requirements, and smooth processing of insurance claims. The AVP will be responsible for maintaining strong internal controls, implementing IT improvements, mitigating operational risks, and ensuring adherence to regulatory, audit, and Sharia requirements. Collaboration with business units to design and implement process and system solutions, especially for cancellations and consolidations, will be key. The position also involves account reconciliations, audit compliance, MIS generation, and continuous improvement of operations. This leadership role requires strong knowledge of banking systems, Islamic finance principles, and real estate financing, combined with proven operational risk awareness and people management skills.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee servicing unit daily operations including life Takaful, after-sale services, EMI and PDC management
- Ensure timely processing of all after-sales service applications in Finnone and authorize file closures
- Maintain compliance with policies and ensure customer service requests are completed within agreed timelines
- Manage cheque/SIO presentation, clearing, and bank GL reconciliations
- Ensure customer coverage for life and property Takaful, process claims, and ensure timely reimbursements
- Create and maintain strong internal controls, segregation of duties, and checks to prevent errors
- Analyze departmental problems, suggest and implement remedial solutions in consultation with leadership
- Oversee IT improvement initiatives for process efficiency and error prevention
- Work with business units to implement process/system solutions for new scenarios (e.g., cancellations)
- Identify and mitigate operational risk areas in alignment with company risk policies
- Ensure satisfactory audit ratings and implement audit recommendations
- Support reconciliation of accounts under Home Finance operations with formal sign-off to finance
Experience & skills
- Minimum 8 years of experience in banking operations or servicing roles
- Strong knowledge of account balancing, reconciliation, and bank systems
- Proficiency in banking products, services, and operations
- Understanding of real estate financing and Sharia principles of Islamic finance
- Experience in budgeting, planning, MIS reporting, and analytics
- Strong operational risk awareness and process improvement expertise
- Proven leadership and talent development skills
- Ability to ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
