Job description
Stake, a MENA real estate fintech enabling fractional real estate investing via its mobile app, seeks a Senior Accountant in Dubai to support best accounting practices and provide accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity, and cash flows while ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The role performs professional accounting work including compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data; executes general or cost accounting activities; applies accounting techniques and standard practices to classify and record financial transactions; prepares segments of statements and reports (e.g., cost reports, trial balances, balance sheets, statements of sourcing); prepares commentary or explanations on report items and investigates related accounts; and provides limited advice on accounting matters based on established principles. The Senior Accountant will manage all accounting transactions, publish financial statements on time, handle monthly/quarterly/annual closings, reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensure timely bank payments, compute taxes and prepare tax returns, manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements, report on financial health and liquidity, audit financial transactions and documents, reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary, and comply with financial policies and regulations. Tooling and standards include Dynamics 365 Business Centre (mandatory), advanced MS Office skills, general ledger functions, and excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures within a regulated company environment; English fluency is assumed and Arabic is a plus.

Key responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions and ensure accurate classification and recording of financial activities
- Publish financial statements on time and prepare segments of statements and reports including trial balances, balance sheets, cost reports, and statements of sourcing
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely bank payments and perform bank reconciliations
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns in compliance with applicable tax regulations
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements and report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
- Audit financial transactions and documents and prepare commentary/explanations for items of interest
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and perform database backups as necessary
- Comply with financial policies and regulations and support internal and external audit processes
Experience & skills
- Hold a BS in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant degree
- Bring a minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, ideally within fintech or finance
- Demonstrate experience dealing with internal and external auditors for annual audit
- Have mandatory experience with accounting software Dynamics 365 Business Centre
- Show excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures; regulated company experience preferred
- Possess advanced MS Office skills and experience with general ledger functions
- Exhibit advanced business communication skills (written and verbal); Arabic is a plus
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Be fluent in English; Arabic is a big plus
