Job description
The Direct Custody and Clearing Operations Associate at J.P. Morgan in Riyadh will provide custody operations support with a focus on the local securities market, including equities, government securities, and corporate bonds. The role includes executing error-free operations, ensuring accurate settlement and regulatory reporting, managing pre-trade activities, trade capture, affirmation, brokerage, and settlement processes. The position requires knowledge of SWIFT messaging and the KSA Tadawul systems, as well as the ability to identify and escalate exceptions. The associate will provide first-level supervision for day-to-day business deliverables, respond to client inquiries, and ensure compliance with firm policies and standard operating procedures. The role also involves defining and managing operating models, determining technology requirements, and establishing business processes to support new initiatives while maintaining a robust control environment. Strong communication with internal and external market participants, workload prioritization, adherence to critical deadlines, and high levels of integrity are essential. This is a key operational role with the potential to develop people management skills and eventually lead the custody operations team.

- Provide processing support for effective and efficient delivery of custody trade operations
- Deliver processing support for settlement and regulatory reporting across equities, government securities, and corporate bonds
- Execute error-free operations and identify and escalate process exceptions
- Manage pre-trade activity, trade capture, affirmation, brokerage, and settlement
- Utilize SWIFT messaging for transaction processing
- Supervise day-to-day business deliverables and ensure timely client responses
- Comply with firm policies and standard operating procedures
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external market participants
- Support implementation of new business initiatives by defining operating models and technology requirements
Experience & skills
- CMA certification (essential)
- Minimum 1 year of trade settlement custody experience in KSA
- Operating knowledge and understanding of KSA Tadawul systems
- Ability to prioritize workloads and meet critical deadlines
- High levels of integrity with open and honest communication
- Proficiency in MS Office, with strong MS Excel skills
- Degree or equivalent preferred
