The Assistant Vice President – Sustainable Construction and Supply Chain is responsible for leading the implementation of sustainable construction strategies and supply chain sustainability initiatives across Aldar’s developments, projects, and existing portfolio in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on driving net zero targets by developing commercially viable carbon reduction solutions and embedding sustainability into procurement, tendering, and construction processes. This position is responsible for developing sustainable procurement criteria, integrating ESG requirements into supply chain operations, and continuously improving policies, standards, and tools that support sustainable sourcing and construction practices. The role involves conducting environmental impact assessments of construction materials and products, including carbon footprint, energy consumption, and waste generation analysis. It also requires managing supply chain ESG maturity programs to enhance contractor and supplier sustainability performance. The Assistant Vice President leads environmental data assurance processes across construction sites, ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and actionable insights for sustainability improvement. The role includes developing market intelligence on low-carbon materials, establishing pricing benchmarks, and identifying innovative sustainable technologies for construction applications. Additionally, the role ensures regulatory compliance with sustainability standards, monitors environmental risks, and implements mitigation strategies. The position collaborates with project teams to ensure seamless integration of sustainable materials into construction processes while driving innovation in sustainable supply chain practices and maintaining alignment with corporate sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities
- Lead implementation of sustainable construction and supply chain strategies across projects and developments
- Develop and integrate sustainable procurement requirements into procurement and tendering processes
- Design and continuously improve sustainability policies, standards, tools, and frameworks for construction supply chains
- Conduct environmental impact assessments of materials including carbon footprint, energy consumption, and waste generation
- Develop ESG capability programs for suppliers and contractors to improve sustainability maturity
- Analyze environmental data from construction sites and provide actionable insights for sustainability improvements
- Develop market intelligence and pricing benchmarks for low-carbon construction materials
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate sustainable materials into construction operations
- Identify sustainability risks and develop mitigation strategies for supply chain and construction materials
- Monitor compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and corporate ESG objectives
- Drive innovation and pilot programs for sustainable construction technologies and materials
- Ensure environmental data accuracy, assurance, and reporting for construction projects
Experience & skills
- 8+ years of experience in sustainability, sustainable construction, or sustainable design within real estate or construction industry
- Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, engineering, environmental science, or related field
- Strong knowledge of sustainable procurement practices and green construction materials
- Experience with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)
- Understanding of ESG frameworks and sustainability regulations
- Strong project management experience in construction or sustainability initiatives
- Experience analyzing environmental data and sustainability metrics
- Knowledge of supply chain sustainability and supplier evaluation processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with regulatory and certification standards for sustainable sourcing
