Job description
The Manager - Maintenance Planning & Performance at OQ Gas Networks in Muscat, Oman, is responsible for leading the Maintenance Planning & Performance department under Technical Services. The role manages integrated maintenance and shutdown planning for gas network assets, ensuring reliability, availability, and cost efficiency. The position oversees long-term and short-term activity planning, evaluates contractor performance, enforces contract compliance, and drives alignment of planning strategies with operational goals. Responsibilities also include leading SAP Plant Maintenance enhancements, conducting technical audits, and ensuring sustainable CAPEX projects adhere to budgets and timelines. The role emphasizes HSE leadership, continuous improvement, and alignment with organizational values of sustainability, stakeholder engagement, and cultural principles. Candidates must have 12–14 years of oil and gas industry experience, strong knowledge of Primavera and SAP, experience in maintenance contract management, and a proven record of leadership in technical and planning functions. The position requires strong communication, interpersonal, and multicultural management skills, along with technical judgment in engineering matters.

Key responsibilities
- Lead integrated maintenance and shutdown planning to ensure quality and reliability of gas network assets
- Develop and continuously improve planning and scheduling procedures
- Oversee short-term and long-term Integrated Activity Planning (IAP) with internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor and evaluate major maintenance service contractor performance for compliance with KPIs
- Align planning strategy with operational and leadership objectives
- Enhance SAP Plant Maintenance utilization for effective work management
- Conduct technical audits covering planning, execution, SAP use, budget adherence, and contractor performance
- Ensure cost control and budget monitoring across all maintenance and CAPEX activities
- Track and report sustainable CAPEX projects throughout lifecycle phases
- Prepare planning and performance reports based on defined KPIs
- Lead team competency development, mentoring, and structured training initiatives
- Conduct performance appraisals and implement team development programs
- Promote and enforce HSE objectives, KPIs, and safety culture within the team
Experience & skills
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 12–14 years of oil and gas industry experience
- Experience in maintenance planning, contract management, and scheduling
- Proficiency in Primavera and SAP (Plant Maintenance, CMMS)
- Knowledge of maintenance/engineering planning and gas network scheduling
- Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and HSE plan implementation
- Strong leadership and team management abilities with at least 7 direct reports
- Ability to prepare accurate progress curves, schedules, and monthly reports
- Fluency in English; Arabic preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and multicultural sensitivity skills
- Proven ability in technical judgment, materials specifications, and adherence to international standards
