Job description
ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 sit at the foundation of this Senior HSE Engineer role, with full responsibility for implementing, maintaining and continuously improving the HSE management system across project and site operations. You'll ensure site activities comply strictly with HSE plans, procedures and corporate standards, developing and executing monitoring and audit programs that keep documentation and reporting on track. Risk assessment runs through the job constantly, covering hazard identification, hierarchy of controls and safety critical elements across high risk activities such as working at height, confined space entry, lifting and rigging operations, and electrical work involving LOTO systems. Inspections and audits happen at site level regularly, with incident and accident investigations, root cause analysis and non-conformance tracking all falling under this role. Training sits close to the center of the job too, identifying needs, delivering HSE inductions and promoting Life Saving Rules through toolbox talks and regular meetings with the workforce and subcontractors. Environmental protection and emergency management round out the scope, covering pollution prevention programs, emergency drills, crisis management and spill response preparedness. Clients, contractors and regulatory authorities all interface with this role on HSE matters, keeping operations aligned with corporate HSE objectives. Strong knowledge of HSE management systems, risk assessment, auditing and incident investigation is expected, alongside experience across construction, fabrication and industrial operations. This is a fixed term contract based in Abu Dhabi, working a 48 hour week from Monday to Friday.
