Job description
This role is part of Zain Bahrain’s subsidiary fintech company, Bede, a startup licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain that delivers Bahrain’s first Shariah-compliant Islamic financing application. The position contributes to the growth of Bede’s merchant-led micro-financing model by handling the onboarding, activation, and ongoing management of merchants and service providers across assigned sectors such as education, medical, retail, furniture, and other approved verticals. The role focuses on enabling customers to finance purchases through Bede by paying merchants and service providers directly, positioning Bede as a preferred point-of-sale financing and payment option. Performance is measured by sales results and financing volumes generated through merchant channels. The role collaborates closely with the Marketing & Communications team to design and execute targeted marketing, advertising, and social media campaigns that drive merchant acquisition and financing uptake. It also leads and manages roadshows and on-site engagements with medium and large employers to promote micro-financing and merchant-based financing solutions directly to employees, generating financing opportunities through both merchant-based and direct micro-financing products. The position ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, while supporting documentation, reporting, and governance processes related to merchant onboarding and financing activities.

Key responsibilities
- Identify, approach, and onboard merchants and service providers across assigned and new verticals including educational, medical, retail, furniture, and other approved sectors
- Ensure merchants and service providers are fully enrolled, contractually compliant, and activated on the Bede platform
- Strengthen Bede’s presence as a preferred point-of-sale financing and payment option for merchants and service providers
- Expand merchant coverage to ensure diverse and competitive offerings within each financing vertical
- Support the development and expansion of new financing verticals in line with Bede’s strategic roadmap
- Ensure each vertical contains a sufficient number and variety of active merchants and service providers
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to design and execute merchant-focused marketing initiatives
- Support advertising, social media, sponsored campaigns, promotions, offers, and awareness initiatives to maximize financing uptake
- Plan, organize, and execute roadshows and on-site visits to SME, medium, and large employers
- Promote micro-financing and merchant-based financing solutions directly to employees during employer engagements
- Coordinate with employers and internal teams to maximize employee engagement and financing conversions
- Maintain strong relationships with merchants, service providers, employers, and internal stakeholders
- Act as the primary point of contact for merchant-related growth initiatives and resolve merchant inquiries and issues
- Ensure all merchant and employer engagements comply with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Support documentation, record-keeping, and reporting related to merchant onboarding and financing activities
- Perform additional related tasks as required
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or a related field
- Relevant professional certifications in sales, marketing, or financial services considered an advantage
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in business development, sales, merchant acquisition, partnerships, or field sales
- Experience monitoring merchant performance and financing activity
- Ability to manage multiple merchants and engagements simultaneously
