Job description
The Vendor / Category Manager - Grocery E-commerce (Deliveroo Hop) in Dubai is responsible for managing the performance and growth of a product category within Deliveroo’s 24/7 digital supermarket platform. The role involves shaping category strategy through range selection, sourcing, pricing strategy, cost control, contract negotiation, merchandising, and promotional campaign management. The position requires close collaboration with the Vendor Management Lead to optimize SKU selection, monitor SKU performance, and execute plans to drive sustainable growth. The role includes managing vendor relationships with local and international grocery suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements, ensuring vendor compliance with regulatory requirements, and resolving vendor-related issues including invoices, payments, and account reconciliation. The manager works closely with inventory teams to maintain stock levels and source new products while analyzing market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities. The role also involves driving vendor-funded media spend to promote products on the platform. The position requires strong analytical capabilities using tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI, along with experience in FMCG sourcing and category management within a fast-paced e-commerce or retail environment.

- Select and manage SKUs ensuring optimal performance and effective promotional campaign execution
- Monitor category and SKU performance and implement optimization strategies for growth
- Analyze category performance against plans and execute improvement initiatives
- Develop and manage relationships with local and international vendors and suppliers
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and agreements to secure favorable commercial terms
- Evaluate vendor performance and implement corrective actions to improve service and quality
- Ensure vendor compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards
- Collaborate with inventory teams to source products and maintain stock levels
- Resolve vendor-related issues including invoices, payments, and account reconciliation
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities
- Drive vendor marketing spend and promotional visibility on the platform
Experience & skills
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in vendor management, category management, or buying functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for evaluating category and vendor performance
- Experience in contract negotiation and building vendor partnerships
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Proactive and results-driven approach to procurement and vendor management
- Desirable experience in FMCG sourcing and fresh category sourcing
- Familiarity with data analytics tools such as SQL, Tableau, and Power BI
