Job description
This role in EY’s Climate Change & Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team involves managing multiple client engagements across sectors including consumer products, Oil & Gas, financial services, public, and infrastructure. The position requires delivering sustainability and ESG advisory services, including energy management, green building, HSE management systems, sustainable value creation, sustainability digitization, business model innovation, sustainable supply chain development, and reporting. Core responsibilities include strategic advisory, ESG risk assessment, regulatory analysis, program development, materiality assessments, peer benchmarking, stakeholder engagement, KPI and metric identification aligned with standards such as GRI, and preparation of internal and external reporting. The role also includes evaluating and testing processes and controls, conducting audit procedures, preparing analyses and documentation, participating in client meetings, developing sustainability strategies, analyzing benchmarking results and regulatory updates, supporting business development, producing thought leadership content, conducting research, and contributing to a dynamic sustainability practice aligned with global climate trends and client needs.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Support clients in assessing and addressing complex ESG and sustainability challenges including regulatory developments, policy shifts, and business risks
- Lead the design and implementation of ESG and sustainability programs including materiality assessments, peer benchmarking, stakeholder engagement, gap analyses, and KPI identification aligned with GRI
- Prepare internal and external sustainability reporting materials
- Manage multiple client engagements and maintain communication with senior team members across industries
- Perform audit procedures and create work products such as audit analyses and engagement documentation
- Evaluate and test processes and controls and assist in report preparation
- Analyze sustainability data including benchmarking results, industry trends, and regulatory updates
- Conduct in-depth research on ESG and sustainability topics and document insights for team and client deliverables
- Support senior team members in client relationship management, business development initiatives, and drafting thought leadership content
Experience & skills
- Undergraduate degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical engineering, environmental science or equivalent with MSc or MBA advantageous
- Experience in climate change, sustainability, or ESG-related work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English
- Knowledge of sustainability and ESG standards such as GRI, TCFD, SASB, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001
- A passion for data analytics and visualization
- Experience in consulting or client-facing roles
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently or as part of a team
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and strong accountability
- A track record with a leading consulting firm is preferred
