Job description

Wood seeks a Senior Project Engineer to support a portfolio of onshore capital projects for an international operator, with execution support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices. The Sharjah-based (5/2 schedule) role manages engineering projects across multidisciplinary interfaces, third parties and client liaison, delivering both Greenfield and Brownfield modification projects and integrating low-carbon solutions that support energy transition and emissions reduction goals. Key accountabilities include leading successful project delivery; coordinating discipline engineers, supporting departments and external stakeholders; reporting day-to-day activities to the Project Manager/Project Lead; ensuring compliance with Wood’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures; developing and managing project plans, schedules and budgets to meet client expectations; coordinating with clients, vendors, subcontractors and other third parties; holding and minuting weekly progress meetings with discipline engineers, assigning ownership and driving actions to timely closure; managing project risks, issues and changes to minimize schedule and budget impact; ensuring effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders; developing and maintaining project documentation, reports and records; establishing WBS structure and aligning proposals and CTR development with an emphasis on scope development; delivering to agreed schedule dates; preparing Weekly Project Dashboards; driving interface management with the Client’s Engineering, Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure a consistent approach to completion; and daily relationship management with the client and other stakeholders.
