Job description
The Senior Manager / Director – Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) at EY is a leadership position focused on helping banks, insurers, and financial institutions enhance their risk frameworks, strengthen capital adequacy, and meet evolving regulatory requirements. This role combines deep technical expertise in credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk with strategic advisory and transformation leadership. The ideal candidate will lead large-scale risk transformation programs under Basel III/IV, ICAAP, and IFRS 9, while integrating next-generation technologies such as AI, automation, and advanced analytics to modernize risk functions. As part of EY’s regional and global risk practice, the Senior Manager will engage with regulators, C-suite executives, and cross-border teams to deliver high-impact solutions that balance compliance, performance, and innovation.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex risk transformation projects covering credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk domains
- Design, calibrate, and validate risk models (PD, LGD, EAD) in compliance with Basel and IFRS 9 standards
- Develop ICAAP frameworks, capital planning methodologies, and regulatory stress testing programs
- Strengthen liquidity risk frameworks, including LCR, NSFR, and IRRBB, ensuring alignment with supervisory expectations
- Advise clients on operational risk frameworks, RCSA, loss data analytics, and capital quantification
- Oversee engagement governance, ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and measurable impact
- Manage senior client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor to C-suite and Board stakeholders
- Contribute to business development and thought leadership initiatives across the GCC and international markets
- Identify emerging risk areas such as ESG, climate risk, and AI governance to develop new service offerings
- Mentor and coach team members, fostering technical excellence and innovation within the FSRM practice
- Collaborate with EY global experts to deliver cross-border risk and regulatory transformation programs
- Integrate digital and cyber risk considerations into enterprise risk frameworks to strengthen resilience
Experience & skills
- 12–15 years of professional experience in risk management, consulting, or at a Tier-1 financial institution
- Deep expertise across credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk management, including Basel III/IV and IFRS 9
- Proficiency in developing and validating quantitative models using Python, R, SAS, or SQL
- Experience engaging with regulators such as SAMA, CBUAE, EBA, PRA, or similar authorities
- Proven track record leading large-scale risk or capital management transformation programs
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and strategic problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills with senior executives and boards
- Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
- Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, PRM, or equivalent preferred
- Exposure to emerging areas such as AI/ML risk analytics, ESG, or digital risk is an advantage
