Job description
Mainframe workloads, legacy applications and on-premises estates are the starting point for many of the customers this architect works with in AWS Professional Services (ProServe) across MENAT. Although the posting is titled Sr. Cloud Application Architect, the body describes the position as a Sr. Delivery Consultant, hired through AWS EMEA SARL's Saudi Arabia Branch. Requirements gathering and assessment of current infrastructure lead into migration strategies and the design of complex, scalable and secure AWS solutions. Implementation is yours to lead, with best practices, performance optimisation and risk management built in from the start. Serverless, containers on Kubernetes or Docker, and cloud native CI/CD with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab or Code Deploy (AWS) feature heavily. Some engagements also involve deploying LLMs in production on GPUs, Neuron or TPU hardware. Customers and AWS Partner Network (APN) teams treat you as a trusted advisor, and colleagues benefit from your mentoring, training and reusable artifacts. Expect to bring 5+ years in enterprise application modernisation and migration, plus experience leading highly available, fault-tolerant deployments and software teams in a DevOps model. Database, ETL and mainframe depth, along with hands-on AWS experience, are preferred.
