Job description
The Assistant Manager - Accommodation at DP World in Dubai supports the Accommodations Director in overseeing daily facility operations to ensure efficient service delivery across multiple functions including maintenance, security coordination, cleaning, and landscaping. This role is integral to maintaining operational excellence within accommodation facilities by managing building systems such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability. The position involves conducting routine facility inspections, identifying maintenance and safety issues, coordinating improvement projects, and overseeing both staff and vendors engaged in facility upkeep and service delivery. Responsibilities extend to managing facility budgets, monitoring expenditures, and preparing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for services and capital projects. The Assistant Manager also ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including health, safety, fire, and environmental codes. The role requires effective contract negotiation and management of service providers, tracking of maintenance activities and assets using CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) systems, and producing detailed operational reports covering maintenance performance, budget utilization, and safety metrics. This position plays a key role in aligning DP Worldâs accommodation management operations with global standards of quality, safety, and sustainability, supporting the companyâs mission to enhance trade infrastructure and workforce welfare globally.

Key responsibilities
- Assist the Accommodations Director in managing daily operations of the accommodation facilities section.
- Oversee maintenance, security coordination, cleaning, and landscaping activities to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Monitor and maintain building systems such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing for operational safety and reliability.
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety risks, and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate and manage facility projects including infrastructure upgrades, renovations, and landscaping improvements.
- Supervise facility maintenance staff, ensuring performance standards, training, and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure access control, emergency preparedness, and safety protocols are implemented.
- Monitor and manage budgets for facility operations and improvement projects in line with financial policies.
- Prepare and review RFPs and proposals for facility services, landscaping contracts, and capital works.
- Ensure adherence to environmental, health, safety, and fire regulations across all facility operations.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with service providers, vendors, and contractors.
- Prepare periodic operational reports summarizing maintenance activities, security, budgeting, and incident tracking.
- Utilize CAFM systems to track assets, manage work orders, monitor space usage, and generate operational reports.
Experience & skills
- Experience in facilities or accommodation management, preferably within large-scale logistics, maritime, or infrastructure organizations.
- Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing maintenance.
- Proficiency in using Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems for tracking and reporting.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental compliance regulations within the UAE.
- Experience managing vendor contracts, budgets, and facility projects.
- Ability to prepare and evaluate RFPs for facility and service contracts.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills to manage staff and coordinate cross-functional operations.
- Strong analytical ability for budgeting, performance monitoring, and reporting.
