Job description
The Retail Operations Manager ā Watches & Jewelry at Al Futtaim is responsible for driving strategic retail initiatives and optimizing operational productivity to achieve revenue growth and exceptional customer service across showrooms in the UAE. The role requires leadership and direction to showroom managers and focuses on commercial development, operational standards, inventory control, visual merchandising, store optimization, and people management. The Retail Operations Manager is accountable for maximizing sales and profitability through KPIs such as Sales per Square Foot, Average Transaction Value (ATV), Conversion Rate, and Upselling, while ensuring consistent service levels and adherence to DSES Service Standards. Responsibilities include developing retail skills within the team, managing recruitment, training, and succession planning, overseeing compliance with health and safety regulations, and ensuring audit and SOP adherence. The position also entails planning promotions, managing store openings and closures, leading market intelligence activities, and collaborating with marketing, finance, logistics, and brand management teams to align operational strategies with business goals. The role requires strategic planning capabilities, strong analytical and leadership skills, and proven experience in retail operations management within a luxury or multi-brand retail environment.

Key responsibilities
- Maximize sales productivity by driving KPIs such as Sales per Square Foot, Average Transaction Value (ATV), Conversion Rate, and Upselling
- Analyze financial Profit & Loss reports and provide corrective action plans to improve store performance
- Deploy monthly sales budgets and manage controllable operating costs within budgetary guidelines
- Ensure showroom managers conduct effective communication sessions regarding sales targets and performance
- Guide showroom managers on staff deployment and manage rosters, leaves, and rotations to optimize productivity
- Monitor stock allocations, replenishment plans, and inventory control to ensure stock accuracy
- Ensure adherence to brand visual merchandising standards across all showrooms
- Implement and manage DSES Service Standards to enhance customer experience and satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and audit SOPs for operational efficiency
- Conduct quarterly retail operations checks and oversee housekeeping and maintenance standards
- Lead people development through coaching, mentoring, and performance management of showroom managers
- Collaborate with HRBP for recruitment, training, and development of retail talent and succession planning
- Provide market insights on competition, sales trends, and retail expansions to management
- Plan retail marketing calendars, promotional campaigns, and seasonal sale events with marketing teams
- Oversee store openings, closures, and new projects ensuring alignment with Capex budgets and timelines
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorās degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field
- Have 5ā7 years of experience in retail operations management with team leadership responsibilities
- Demonstrate proven success in achieving sales objectives and optimizing operational efficiency
- Show strong analytical, strategic planning, and financial performance management skills
- Exhibit proficiency in data analysis and KPI-driven decision-making
- Possess strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills for stakeholder management
- Demonstrate ability to manage visual merchandising, promotions, and inventory control in a retail environment
