The Construction Superintendent (Piping) β Fabrication Yard role at KBR in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is part of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions supporting offshore oil and gas mega projects with high-value engineering and construction execution. The position is responsible for overseeing piping construction activities within fabrication yard environments and supporting offshore island project execution under large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) frameworks exceeding US$1 billion in project value. The role requires extensive experience in oil and gas construction, particularly in fabrication yard operations and offshore project environments, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of piping works. The Construction Superintendent is responsible for supervising construction activities, coordinating field execution, and ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The role involves managing construction teams, contractors, and site activities while ensuring alignment with project deliverables and offshore execution requirements. The position requires participation in offshore rotation schedules (6 weeks on / 3 weeks off) depending on client requirements and includes both fabrication yard and offshore site responsibilities. The superintendent ensures proper execution of piping installation, monitoring construction progress, resolving site execution issues, and maintaining coordination across multiple disciplines in complex offshore environments. The role also involves adherence to oil and gas industry standards, EPC project execution methodologies, and large-scale project governance structures. The Construction Superintendent is expected to provide leadership in high-risk construction environments, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements while delivering project milestones efficiently.

Key responsibilities
- Supervise piping construction activities in fabrication yard environments ensuring compliance with engineering designs, specifications, and project standards
- Oversee offshore construction execution for large-scale oil and gas EPC projects including offshore island developments
- Coordinate and manage construction teams, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure safe and efficient execution of piping works
- Monitor construction progress and ensure alignment with project schedules, milestones, and deliverables for mega EPC oil and gas projects
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices in fabrication yard and offshore environments
- Resolve on-site construction issues and provide technical and managerial guidance to ensure uninterrupted project execution
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, and project management teams to ensure smooth integration of construction activities
- Support offshore rotation-based project execution including 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off work cycles when required by client
Experience & skills
- Possess minimum 18+ years of experience in oil and gas construction industry
- Demonstrate at least 5+ years of experience working on offshore oil and gas projects
- Demonstrate minimum 5 years of experience in similar superintendent role on mega EPC oil and gas projects exceeding US$1 billion
- Possess Bachelorβs degree in Engineering as mandatory requirement
- Demonstrate strong experience in fabrication yard construction activities and piping works
- Demonstrate experience in offshore construction execution environments and rotation-based project operations
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of EPC project execution methodologies in oil and gas sector
- Demonstrate ability to manage large-scale construction teams and coordinate multi-disciplinary project activities
