Job description
The Logistics Trade Compliance Operations Manager for Google Cloud Logistics (GCL) is responsible for leading, optimizing, and overseeing trade compliance and logistics operations across multiple Middle East countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The role involves managing day-to-day operations, supervising third-party logistics partners, and ensuring compliance with local and regional trade regulations, including ECCN classification and EMEA export/import requirements. The position includes developing business cases for operational improvements, managing budgets and capital projects, standardizing operational documentation, monitoring KPIs and vendor performance scorecards, and driving continuous process improvement initiatives. The role requires coordination across cross-functional teams, including data center operations, finance, and internal stakeholders, to ensure operational efficiency, scalability, and compliance with industry standards and best practices. This position contributes to Google Cloudâs ability to deliver compute and storage equipment globally while maintaining high standards for quality, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities
- Own daily trade compliance operations for Google Cloud Logistics (GCL) across multiple Middle East locations
- Oversee, manage, and align customs brokers, FTZ operations, and relevant service providers
- Manage third-party logistics partners and dedicated associates, monitor KPIs, vendor performance scorecards, and implement improvement initiatives
- Identify process improvement opportunities, develop business cases, and present recommendations to senior management
- Manage quarterly budgets, invoice control, and capital improvement projects for assigned locations
- Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders at data centers and across the region to ensure operational alignment
- Implement and standardize user documentation, operational workflows, and best practices
- Analyze operational impacts and metrics to inform continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive alignment and prioritization of initiatives across internal teams and external partners
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in trade compliance, logistics, or supply chain operations
- Minimum 5 yearsâ experience in customer-facing roles managing third-party logistics or trade compliance operations in the Middle East
- Fluent in Arabic and English for direct engagement with local stakeholders
- Experience with customs brokers, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, ECCN classification, and Middle East trade regulations
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional and geographically diverse teams
- Experience in managing budgets, KPIs, and vendor performance scorecards
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey operational recommendations to senior management
- Ability to identify operational improvements and implement process optimization initiatives
