Job description
The Vice President - Finance Operations role at Space42 is responsible for leading end-to-end finance operations across the Group, delivering high-quality financial management services with a strong focus on cash generation, process efficiency, compliance, and risk management. Space42 is a UAE-based AI-powered SpaceTech company formed in 2024 following the merger of Bayanat and Yahsat, integrating satellite communications, geospatial analytics, and artificial intelligence to serve government, enterprise, and community customers globally. The role oversees seven core finance functions including Procurement, Payables, Receivables, Credit & Collections, Revenue Assurance, Financial Controls, and Taxation. The position drives credit risk management and receivables collection strategies across large portfolios exceeding $100m, with emphasis on early warning mechanisms, provisioning, and repatriation solutions leveraging government-to-government channels. It leads procurement strategy, governance, policy administration, supplier management, and compliance with procurement policies and business partner codes of ethics to ensure value-for-money outcomes. The role ensures scalable, automated payables processes with strong internal controls, oversees revenue assurance particularly within mobility and data solutions segments to prevent revenue leakage, and manages direct and indirect tax strategies to achieve optimal tax structures with full compliance. Banking operations, including funds planning, cash management, and surplus fund deployment at minimal cost, fall under this remit. The role requires maintaining extensive external and internal stakeholder relationships, managing large finance teams with structured organization design and continuous learning, and presenting finance operations updates to executive leadership, audit committees, and the Board. The position demands deep expertise in IFRS-aligned financial accounting, budgeting, advanced financial analysis and reporting, ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP, financial resource management, financial risk management, COSO and ICOFR internal control frameworks, revenue assurance, AP/AR operations, insurance, and VAT compliance, within automated and highly controlled finance environments.
