Job description
The Technology Services Controller - Passenger Screening Systems role is a technical authority position responsible for Passenger Screening Systems across HIA and DIA in Doha, Qatar. The role ensures system reliability, security, and regulatory compliance across aviation passenger screening infrastructure, including X-Ray screening systems, CT scanning machines, body scanners, explosive trace detectors, and bottle liquid scanners. It acts as a bridge between business stakeholders, suppliers, and project teams to deliver innovative, resilient, and future-ready screening solutions aligned with aviation operational needs. The role involves maintaining the fleet of passenger screening system equipment and applications, translating business operational requirements into technical specifications, and supporting passenger screening projects as a technical lead. It includes researching emerging technologies and industry trends in passenger screening to recommend improvements that enhance passenger experience and safeguard company IT infrastructure and information assets. The position requires identifying risks related to passenger screening systems and developing mitigation plans, ensuring adequate controls are implemented in secure environments, and governing system architecture across business units for consistency with internal and external requirements. The role includes reviewing functional and non-functional requirements, performing impact analysis on major solution design options, and ensuring scalable, resilient, and sustainable solutions are delivered. It also requires ensuring alignment with aviation regulations and certifications including ECAC, TSA, and QCAA standards while working with multiple equipment manufacturers and supporting implementation and maintenance within medium to large airport environments.

- Maintain and manage passenger screening system equipment and applications across HIA and DIA ensuring operational reliability and performance
- Translate business operational needs into detailed technical requirements for passenger screening systems and solutions
- Act as technical lead for passenger screening projects and coordinate between suppliers and project management teams
- Research emerging technologies and industry trends in passenger screening systems and recommend improvements for operational and security enhancement
- Identify risks related to passenger screening systems and develop mitigation strategies to ensure operational continuity and security
- Ensure implementation of adequate controls and governance frameworks for passenger screening systems in secure aviation environments
- Review functional and non-functional requirements and provide technical recommendations aligned with established frameworks
- Conduct impact analysis on solution design options and ensure scalable, resilient, and sustainable system architecture
- Ensure compliance with aviation security regulations including ECAC, TSA, and QCAA requirements
Experience & skills
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in passenger screening systems including X-Ray, CT machines, body scanners, explosive trace detectors, and liquid detection scanners within aviation or airport security environments
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, IT, electronics, or related discipline
- Experience working directly with multiple passenger screening equipment manufacturers and vendors for evaluation, integration, and lifecycle support of aviation security technologies
- Proven experience in implementation, operation, and maintenance of passenger screening systems in medium to large airport environments with high passenger throughput
- Strong understanding of aviation regulatory compliance frameworks including ECAC, TSA, and QCAA standards and certification requirements
- Experience in technical system governance, solution architecture evaluation, and risk management within critical aviation security infrastructure
- Ability to perform technical impact analysis, requirements engineering, and system design evaluation for complex security screening environments
