Job description
The Solution Engineering Manager – Security Balance role is a people management and technical leadership position within Technology Sales, responsible for driving employee growth, managing performance, and delivering technical wins across customer engagements. The role proactively engages with key customer technical decision makers and influencers, builds credibility through deep technical, domain, and industry knowledge, and empowers teams to influence customer decisions. The position ensures consistency and quality in customer technical experiences by capturing and enforcing standards and best practices across a subsidiary. It orchestrates team resources through cross-workload capacity planning, prioritization, and utilization, while leveraging the Microsoft partner ecosystem to maximize regional capabilities. The role also drives mid- to long-term strategy execution, supports partner technical capacity, enables competitive differentiation, and oversees complex solution design, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept initiatives aligned with Microsoft technologies.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team with responsibility for employee growth, development, performance, and accountability
- Build and execute technical and competitive strategies aligned with local market and subsidiary objectives
- Engage proactively with customer technical decision makers and influencers alongside sales teams
- Enable teams to influence customer decisions and secure technical wins through streamlined processes
- Ensure consistency and quality of customer technical engagements through standards and best practices
- Coordinate with internal partners to align technical resources based on account planning and priorities
- Support and expand partner technical capacity and identify new partnership opportunities
- Coach teams to design, demonstrate, and deliver complex solutions including architectural sessions and proof of concepts
- Apply and coach advanced sales methodologies such as challenger sales
- Drive cross-workload capacity planning, prioritization, and resource utilization
- Act as a technical thought leader by sharing best practices and delivering content at Microsoft events
- Serve as the voice of the customer by identifying trends and feeding insights into solution development
- Identify and resolve technical and non-technical blockers through cross-functional escalation
Experience & skills
- Hold a Master’s degree with 4+ years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience, OR 7+ years equivalent experience
- Possess 8+ years of technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery experience
- Demonstrate 6+ years of experience with cloud, hybrid, or on-premises infrastructure and architecture design
- Exhibit at least 3+ years of people management experience including leading virtual teams
- Demonstrate strong expertise in security, cloud platforms, and enterprise technology solutions
- Show proven ability to lead teams, engage customers, and drive technical strategy execution
