Job description
Join our dynamic team to play a pivotal role in one of the most ambitious and game-changing development projects of our time. As the Project Director â Waste Management you will oversee the delivery of the construction waste and municipal solid waste projects required to bring our vision to life. Youâll collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, and ensure seamless alignment with Master Development, Infrastructure Planning and Design Teams, the National Center for Waste Management (MWAN) and Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC). This is a high-impact role with an opportunity to lead a major waste management program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities
- Evaluate proposed waste management project deployment plans to meet development requirements.
- Provide input into procurement packaging, project budget, and cost estimation.
- Support project program planning and address any schedule gaps.
- Participate in drafting project agreements and review design compliance with Qiddiyaâs requirements.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Propose and structure a compact and efficient delivery team.
- Oversee procurement processes and coordinate contractor appointments with stakeholders.
- Act as point of contact for bid processes and alignment with MWAN and SIRC.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Waste Management team.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans covering scope, budgets, and risk.
- Collaborate with contractors and engineers to ensure project specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress and report to senior management.
- Conduct site inspections ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
- Foster innovation and continuous improvement within project teams.
- Manage disputes and maintain project momentum.
- Establish relationships with governmental agencies, MWAN, SIRC, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate visits and inspections for senior leadership and dignitaries.
- Monitor approval processes, permits, and interface documentation.
- Maintain control over contract administration and ensure timely change approvals.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and progress reports.
- Stay informed of regulatory changes and advocate for project approvals.
- Enforce a safety and quality culture throughout execution.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs Degree in Business Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in waste management projects, with 3+ years on large-scale developments.
- Proven record of securing permits for complex projects.
- Experience in theming and façade installation for infrastructure is desirable.
- In-Kingdom experience and local supplier/contractor relationships are a plus.
- Expertise in waste management equipment, systems, and technology.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, land servicing, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in project management software and operations tools.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled in negotiations, communication, and high-stakes stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to influence decisions through high-impact presentations.
