Job description
The Senior Relationship Manager, Trade & Working Capital is responsible for managing existing and sourcing new Trade & Working Capital (TWC) relationships within the Business Banking Division to meet financial and non-financial objectives. The role includes actively sourcing new-to-bank customers from walk-ins, leading relationship management, and maximizing product penetration through up-selling, deep-selling, and cross-selling the bank's products. This role assumes full ownership of a defined portfolio and ensures portfolio quality, soundness, and compliance with bank-approved policies. Responsibilities include improving share of wallet, positioning the bank as the primary provider for client relationships, conducting annual and periodic credit facility reviews aligned with credit policy, and recommending appropriate facilities identified through analysis. The role involves delivering superior customer service through frequent client meetings, maintaining deep understanding of clients’ businesses, reducing risks, promoting cross-sell, and maximizing earnings. Obligations include monitoring account conduct, rectifying credit issues early, maintaining documentation, executing call reports, performing stock inspections, conducting formal credit checks and gathering informal market feedback. The position also involves liaising with internal and external advisors to ensure accuracy of agreements, mentoring Assistant Relationship Managers (ARMs), collaborating with business units, Risk Management, and enabler units to meet business targets, and ensuring adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements including KYC and AML guidelines.

Key responsibilities
- Manage existing and new Trade & Working Capital relationships to meet financial and non-financial business objectives.
- Actively source new-to-bank customers and generate leads from walk-in clients.
- Improve share of wallet and target achieving primary bank status for all managed relationships.
- Enhance revenue from borrowing and non-borrowing accounts through cross-selling the full suite of bank products.
- Screen the market for NTB opportunities and grow the portfolio within acceptable risk parameters.
- Assume full ownership of the managed portfolio and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
- Conduct annual and periodic credit facility reviews and recommend facilities aligned with credit policy.
- Monitor assigned client accounts to ensure satisfactory conduct and early remediation of credit issues.
- Implement and maintain full control aspects including documentation, client visits, stock inspections, credit checks, and market feedback monitoring.
- Prepare and update call reports and maintain client profile sheets.
- Liaise with internal and external advisors to ensure precision in agreements.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job development to ARMs for professional growth.
- Collaborate with superiors, Risk Management, and enabler units to achieve business goals.
- Adhere to KYC, AML, and all relevant compliance and regulatory policies.
Experience & skills
- Proven banking sales and service experience with strong relationship management capability.
- In-depth awareness of financial products and services and knowledge of digitization and technological advancements.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and analytical skills with an ability to work as a team player.
- MBA/CA or equivalent preferred with at least 5 years of relevant experience in the local market.
- Ability to manage TWC portfolios, perform credit facility reviews, and execute cross-selling opportunities.
- Ability to comply with regulatory standards including KYC and AML requirements.
- Experience in monitoring account conduct, documentation control, and portfolio quality.
