Job description
The Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Dubai serves as a trusted advisor and cloud operations architect for Enterprise Support customers across EMEA. The role focuses on helping customers maximize value from AWS by providing strategic guidance, architectural recommendations, and operational best practices. The TAM works closely with startups and large enterprises undergoing digital transformation, supporting them through cloud adoption, migration, and optimization initiatives. This position involves collaborating with AWS Solutions Architects, Professional Services, and business teams while maintaining long-term customer relationships. The role requires strong technical expertise across cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and operational excellence, combined with consulting and customer-facing skills to drive business outcomes and operational health.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, helping them design, build, and optimize cloud solutions using AWS best practices and architectural principles
- Develop and execute customer cloud adoption strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals, operational needs, and long-term digital transformation objectives
- Monitor customer AWS environments proactively to maintain operational health, improve reliability, and reduce cost and complexity across cloud workloads
- Build strong relationships with technical teams and executive stakeholders, understanding business challenges and aligning technical solutions accordingly
- Lead technical discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk management, ensuring timely resolution and operational continuity
- Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Sales, Professional Services, and Business Development teams to deliver comprehensive customer solutions
- Identify opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS services, including performance improvements and modernization initiatives
- Support customers during cloud migration projects, including planning, execution, optimization, and post-migration operational support
- Conduct technical workshops, training sessions, and enablement activities to enhance customer cloud capabilities and technical maturity
- Provide architectural guidance across compute, networking, storage, security, DevOps, and analytics services within distributed environments
- Advocate for customer requirements internally within AWS, influencing service improvements and product roadmap enhancements
- Develop technical documentation, operational playbooks, and best practice frameworks for customer success and long-term adoption
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field
- Experience troubleshooting operational parameters across at least three areas such as compute, storage, networking, security, DevOps, databases, or big data
- Strong technical engineering background with experience in distributed systems and cloud environments
- Experience working in customer-facing technical roles or enterprise technical leadership positions
- Experience with AWS services or other major cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud is preferred
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and executive audiences
- Ability to drive technical strategy and manage complex cloud environments
- Experience conducting workshops, technical enablement sessions, and customer advisory engagements
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple customers simultaneously
- Arabic language proficiency preferred but not mandatory
