Job description
Masdar, the UAEās clean energy champion, is seeking a Senior Manager, Portfolio Management - Platforms (Eastern Europe) to oversee the operational portfolio of clean energy assets in the region. The role is focused on maximizing value from investments through financial engineering, operational enhancements, partner relationship management, and strategic exits. This senior leadership role involves managing due diligence, implementing financial/operational control frameworks, optimizing asset performance, and identifying exit opportunities. With responsibilities spanning stakeholder engagement, risk management, and financing relationships, the position requires deep expertise in renewable energy investments and asset management, preferably with experience in Greece or broader Eastern Europe.

Key responsibilities
- Manage due diligence, consultants, financial modelling, and internal briefings for investments.
- Prepare and implement financial and operational controls frameworks in a portfolio management environment.
- Execute portfolio activities across multiple renewable energy operating assets.
- Drive operational and financial turnaround in underperforming energy assets.
- Oversee post-acquisition integration and optimization (technical, operational, financial).
- Maintain and manage relationships with Masdar investment partners (JVs, portfolio companies).
- Regularly interact with partners and stakeholders to ensure accurate information exchange.
- Report on periodic assessments of asset performance, value enhancement opportunities, and risks.
- Act as focal point for providers of third-party financing; manage refinancing levers for value enhancement.
- Maintain relationships with financiers to monitor market status and trends.
- Identify, evaluate, and execute exit opportunities for portfolio assets.
- Maintain connections with potential asset buyers/off-takers.
- Oversee relationships with service providers to ensure quality and timely services per agreements.
- Personally manage key negotiations to secure favorable deals protecting Masdarās interests.
Experience & skills
- MBA or relevant Masterās degree from a top-tier institution preferred.
- Bachelorās degree in Engineering or related field.
- 10ā12 years of experience in senior roles within energy/renewables investment and asset management.
- Proven experience implementing financial and operational controls in portfolio management.
- Background in private utilities, IPPs, or private equity environments.
- Experience in Eastern Europe (preferably Greece).
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy and infrastructure investments.
- Strategic and analytical skills with strong business acumen.
- Excellent financial modelling and risk management capabilities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex, multinational environments.
- Familiarity with value-based management concepts and regulatory frameworks.
- Fluency in English required; Greek language skills an advantage.
