Job description
The Senior Manager β Watersports operates across multiple project sites to support the RSSE General Manager in developing and operationalizing water sports tourism assets. The role is responsible for concept development, operational roll-out, and supervision of water sports facilities and activities, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and safety requirements. Working closely with the Director of Sports & Adventure, Delivery Teams, Health & Safety, Legal, and Asset Management, the role ensures seamless integration of water sports activities within the wider marine leisure and entertainment portfolio. Responsibilities include establishing internal operational teams, managing third-party service providers, conducting specialist safety audits, overseeing equipment procurement and maintenance, developing and maintaining SOPs, delivering training and CPD programs, and ensuring sustainability goals are met. The role requires deep expertise across multiple water sports disciplines, instructor-level qualifications, global industry networks, and experience with international sports events, alongside project management, stakeholder engagement, and reporting responsibilities. Remote work and site-based operations may be required to support Red Sea Group water sports assets.

Key responsibilities
- Support the RSSE General Manager in the development and operational rollout of all water sports related tourism assets
- Supervise water sports teams and ensure all activities are delivered in compliance with approved SOPs
- Assist in managing all phases of water sports related projects in coordination with the Cluster Manager of WAMA
- Develop and deliver standalone water sports centers in collaboration with Delivery Teams and marine leisure portfolios
- Collaborate with Health & Safety and Legal departments to develop policies, procedures, and obtain operational licenses
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert for all water sports activities and operations
- Write, manage, and maintain SOPs and operational processes for water sports venues
- Liaise with third-party service providers for specialized training delivery and operational support
- Monitor and manage operator standards in collaboration with Asset Management
- Coordinate with international equipment manufacturers and regional distributors for procurement, maintenance, and replacement
- Conduct regular specialist safety audits and program delivery evaluations
- Establish internal operational teams and oversee divisional management of water sports outlets
- Plan and deliver CPD sessions for instructors and operational staff
- Ensure water sports programs align with sustainability goals outlined in the project master plan
- Engage with development project leaders to integrate water sports tourism elements
- Attend project meetings, develop project plans, and maintain project databases and presentations
- Compile site visit surveys, reports, and internal and external media content
- Support remote operations and site-based requirements as needed
Experience & skills
- Bachelorβs degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in water sports activities, hospitality, or related field
- Advanced Powerboat or Safety Boat certification
- VHF Radio Operator License
- Water Sports Health & Safety Officer qualification
- Technical Water Sports Operations Management experience
- Recognized instructor qualifications across multiple water sports disciplines
- ML, RCI, Paddles Sports Coach, or equivalent highest qualification
- Qualified Senior Instructor or Dinghy Instructor within the last 5 years
- Qualified Surf and/or SUP Instructor
- Outdoor First Aid certification (minimum 16 hours)
- RYA Level 2 Powerboating, RYA Advanced Powerboating, or RYA Safety Boat certification or equivalents
- Proven experience with international sports events and global water sports networks
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills preferred
