Job description
The Compliance Manager – Ethics & Compliance is responsible for developing, managing, and implementing the Ethics and Compliance policies, procedures, and projects across Mubadala Investment Company, ensuring full compliance with applicable local and international laws, regulations, and internal governance frameworks. Operating within the Group Legal & Regulatory Affairs platform and the Ethics & Compliance business unit, the role supports the delivery of a robust ethics and compliance program that promotes professionalism, integrity, ethical operations, and effective risk mitigation across Mubadala’s diverse global investment portfolio. The position involves leading research into evolving legal and regulatory requirements, reviewing and updating internal ethics and compliance policies, managing monitoring and enforcement mechanisms, and delivering ethics and compliance projects for assigned corporate and business functions. The Compliance Manager actively identifies, evaluates, and analyses ethics and compliance risks, reviews internal and external audit results, and implements appropriate controls and remediation measures. The role also includes designing and delivering ethics, compliance, and corporate governance training programs, managing training plans and reporting, developing compliance communication initiatives, supervising external business partners and service providers, maintaining up-to-date regulatory knowledge, and preparing accurate and timely functional reports. The role operates with defined escalation and approval protocols, referring material or strategic decisions to the Director, Deputy Head, or Head of Ethics & Compliance as required.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage the implementation of ethics and compliance policies and procedures in line with the Group ethics and compliance program
- Lead research into relevant local and international laws and regulations to ensure alignment with latest legal and regulatory developments
- Review ethics and compliance policies and procedures to ensure consistency with applicable laws, regulations, and governance requirements
- Establish and maintain systems and processes for reviewing, approving, and updating ethics and compliance policies and procedures
- Monitor and enforce compliance with ethics and compliance policies across Mubadala Investment Company
- Lead ethics and compliance projects for assigned corporate and business functions to manage ethics and compliance risks effectively
- Identify, evaluate, and analyse ethics and compliance risks and emerging issues across business operations
- Review internal and external audit results and implement appropriate ethics and compliance measures
- Manage assigned risk areas by monitoring regulatory and risk developments and ensuring mitigation actions are effective
- Develop and implement ethics, compliance, and corporate governance training programmes across the organization
- Establish and maintain training requirement plans and compliance training reporting for all employees
- Develop and implement communication initiatives to promote ethics, compliance, and corporate governance awareness
- Supervise and manage external business partners and service providers delivering ethics and compliance services
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in local and international laws and regulations to support best-practice governance processes
- Prepare functional ethics and compliance reports accurately and within required timelines
- Escalate critical and strategic matters and seek approval for decisions with material impact from senior Ethics & Compliance leadership
Experience & skills
- Bachelor or graduate-level degree in law from an internationally recognised higher education institution
- Relevant compliance certification such as Certification of Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or similar
- Minimum of 10–13 years of progressive senior-level experience in ethics and compliance or regulatory enforcement management
- Experience in a top-tier international organization or across multiple industries, preferably in the UK or USA
- Strong knowledge of ethics and compliance practices, techniques, and leading industry standards
- Knowledge of local and international ethics and compliance laws, regulations, and legislative requirements
- Experience managing ethics and compliance risks across diverse business sectors
- Ability to develop and deliver ethics and compliance projects aligned with group-wide compliance programs
- Understanding of Mubadala Investment Company operations and multi-sector investment activities
- Experience working with audit findings and implementing compliance remediation measures
